Configuring the Anonimyzer
Improve your Server Side Tagging data by anonymizing the Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA) script tags. This method helps to obscure your analytics scripts, reducing the chances of them being blocked by ad-blockers and enhancing data accuracy. To set up the Anonymizer, ensure you have access to the GTM ID and GA tag you wish to anonymize.
Step 1: Activate the Anonimyzer
Navigate to the domain where you want to activate the Anonimyzer. Under your domain, go to server-side tagging. At the bottom right, you'll find the Anonimyzer. Click on manage Anonimyzer.
Make sure you have your 'non' server container GTM ID and the Google Analytics Tag ID ready for this feature. First, paste in the GTM ID, followed by your Google Analytics Tag ID. Then, copy and paste the code below.
Step 2: Replace the existing GTM script
The next step is to replace your current GTM script with the anonymized version you've just created. Depending on the type of CMS you're using, the process may vary from ours.
Frequently Asked Questions
A request is a single data call that is sent when something happens on a website. For example a page view, a button click or a purchase. Each tracked action counts as one request.
Requests are not counted per visitor, but per action. More interactions and measurements result in more requests being used.
Ecommerce websites and highly interactive sites generally use more requests than simple informational websites.
